Derby Cultural Diversity Arts Network

Keith Jeffrey is the director of QUAD, the visual art and media centre next to the Assembly Rooms. Because of time constraints, his presentation was quite short: but he did highlight certain key points.

1. There is a plan to expand the event celebrating the opening of the Westfield Centre, Derby Festé to become a Derby Festival of Arts, with more street theatre.
2. QUAD has its launch on 26th September: this coincides with the Cultural Olympiad launch weekend. There will be a street procession by Sarruga and a specially commissioned soundtrack from Scanner. Scanner has asked Corey Mwamba to find musicians for him to work with - please contact Corey for a fantastic opportunity.
3. QUAD has commissioned the composer Bill Drummond, who is running a project called The17. You can find out more on the QUAD site.
